CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS
New Carbon Monoxide Detector Law in Illinois
Took effect January 1st, 2007!
As of January 1st, 2007 the Illinois Caron Monoxide Detector Act took effect in Illinois. Essentially - this law requires all homes - residential, rental, apartment buildings, etc - to have carbon monoxide detectors. This includes your own home. Below are some documents you will find useful in understanding how this bill affects your own property -as well as your investment property. The law provides that you can combine Carbon Monoxide and smoke detectors - so I have included a copy of both laws.
