INSPECTIONS
Whenever you buy a new home - whether it's new construction or pre-existing, it's always a good idea to have an inspector take a look at various items in the house. The most common type of inspection is the "Whole House" Inspection where an inspector goes through the entire house with a fine tooth comb. Below you will find details about each type of inspection as well as links for more information. To visit one of the links - click on the underlined item you want more information on.
Whole House Inspection
A Whole House Inspection is performed by a licensed Home Inspector. Home inspectors in Illinois are required to be licensed by the Office of Banks & Real Estate (OBRE) in Illinois. Getting a home inspection report is like getting an owners manual for your home. A good inspector will point out items that require general upkeep maintenance and items that may need future special attention.

Radon levels are measured and there are acceptable and unacceptable levels. If your home is tested to be above acceptable levels - you should install a Radon Mitigation System. Please visit the links below for more information on radon levels, testing, mitigation, etc. Radon Testing Professionals and Radon Mitigation Professionals are both licensed by the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety.
